It's National Voter Registration Day!

Today, Tuesday, September 15, is National Voter Registration Day. Let us be your mom friend nudging you to check to make sure you are registered to vote *right now*.

Checking your voter registration takes two minutes, and it really matters. A lot can happen to impact your registration: new additions to your family, name changes, moving to a new city or even state, or even turning 18! Among the many life events and changes that take place, it’s easy to overlook updating your voter registration, but that’s why you’ve got us to remind you. 

So please take a moment now, this Voter Registration Day, to check your status. Then share the link and request with 3 people you know, too. Here’s the link to check your voter registration again. 

Voting is your way to make your opinion heard on critical issues like affordable health care, child care, safety for communities and immigrants, and more. 

On the ballot this year: 35 U.S. Senate seats, all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, Governors, State Legislators, Mayors, City Council Members, School Board Members, and more depending on where you live. None of us can afford to sit this election out, especially because of a change of address, name, or registration. 

We know how busy the fall can be. It’s the season of backpacks, lost water bottles, appointments, practices, and about 48 other things we were definitely going to remember without writing down. ;) 

This is one task we can check off quickly and feel great about. Click this link to check your voter registration status, then share it with three friends too. 

Once you know your registration is all set, here are three more high-impact additional things you can do: 

  1. Vote early. Skip the shenanigans. Vote as early as possible to avoid delays, last-minute changes, mistakes, or any interference. Click here for information. 
  2. Make a plan to vote! Voting with kids and friends is fun! Make it a moment, not a chore. Gather your people, discuss what’s on the ballot, and then vote early together! 
  3. Know your state's voter ID rules before you head to the polls (if you vote in person). Keep proof of citizenship documents somewhere you can find them fast. Tell your friends and neighbors to do the same! Learn more here.
