Hey, nice to meet you! I’m Josh Turek, the Democratic nominee to replace Joni Ernst in the United States Senate.

 

Like most athletes, I can be superstitious. My “thing” is my lucky number — four. 

 

🏀 I was a four-time team MVP & All-American in college.

🏛️ My first Paralympics was the 2004 Athens Games.

🥇 I’m a four-time Paralympian: 2004, 2012, 2016, 2021.

🔢 My Team USA jersey number was four. 

🎆 My first State House campaign launched July 4th, 2022. Four years ago.

 

It’s been a heck of a four years, too.

 

In 2022 and 2024, I won two elections deep in Trump country.

 

In June of this year, I won the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate after a hard-fought primary.

 

If I win Iowa’s open Senate seat this November, that’ll be...you guessed it: victory #4. 

 

That’s a sign that the stars are aligning in our favor. 

Multiple independent polls show this race is a dead heat. We have a real opportunity to win this Senate seat.

I may be superstitious on occasion, but I’m not delusional.

Luck can’t erase the fact that we’re grassroots underdogs facing a bloated political machine absolutely bent on defeating me.

Private-island billionaires and big corporations want a puppet senator they can control. But that’s not me. It never will be.

 

Unlike my opponent, I’m not a millionaire. I’m a guy who grew up in a working-class neighborhood, shopping at Goodwill and delivering papers before sunrise for $2.50 a week.

 

I now represent the same community that raised me, and no matter where I go, I’ll never turn my back on them. 

 

The rich and powerful already have too much control in this country. But until we kick big money OUT of politics, we have to bring a lot of small-dollar donations in.
