We are just 7 weeks out from Election Day, and things are coming down to the wire -- but Democrats are in a great position to flip the Senate.
We have strong candidates who have built formidable campaigns with the infrastructure needed to win. And they are running against a crop of deeply flawed, scandal-plagued Republican opponents who have backed policies that are driving up the cost of everything. Today, we have multiple paths to flip the Senate, extending deep into states that Donald Trump won by double digits. We’ve put Republicans on their heels, and soon, we’ll send them packing.
Just recently, the forecasters at the Cook Political Report have shifted Texas and Iowa to toss-ups!
Through the hard work of Democratic organizers, candidates, and grassroots supporters, Democrats have the momentum in the race for the Senate. We’re competitive in more than a half-dozen Trump-won states and have several paths to victory across the map.
Let’s zoom in and hear what experts are saying about some of the newest toss-ups: The Senate races in Texas and Iowa.

Via MS NOW: “You have a situation [in Texas], as we’ve said 100 times, a uniquely bad, disliked, corrupt Republican nominee against maybe a generational Democratic talent in James Talarico”
Via Axios: “Democrat James Talarico has dominated the fundraising game and multiple early polls have him narrowly leading Paxton.”
Via Bloomberg: “The contest between Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton is a dead heat,” according to the Cook Political Report.
Via The New York Times: “The contrast between the candidates has fed Democratic hopes and Republican fears that Texas might slip out of G.O.P. hands for the first time in three decades.”
Texas is big, but the stakes of this election are bigger. James Talarico is going up against one of the most corrupt Republicans on the ballot this cycle. It’s a close race where every action we take now, just 7 weeks away from Election Day, could make a huge impact.

Via The Hill: “In Iowa…the tough political environment has hit Iowa especially hard, as the agriculture-dependent economy contends with President Trump’s tariffs, along with the rising prices for fertilizer and diesel due to the Iran war.”
Via The Cook Political Report: “The overall environment in the Hawkeye State is an increasingly favorable one for Democrats given backlash to tariffs and rising fuel and fertilizer prices as a result of the Iran War.”
Via The New York Times: Turek “is the rare Democrat seen as having a plausible path to winning a U.S. Senate seat in Iowa”
Via CBS News: “Turek has run on his record of working across the aisle and has touted representing the most conservative district in Iowa to send a Democrat to the state legislature.”
Iowa has an opportunity to elect a candidate who is going to fight tooth and nail for their state to deliver lower costs and fight for health care. Josh Turek is going to need all hands on deck to flip this seat, so make sure you help out when you can.
These midterms could very well be the most expensive in American history. While Republicans are relying on their billionaire megadonors, Democrats are relying on grassroots supporters like you. If we want to have any chance of taking back the Senate, we are going to need a massive surge of support from our grassroots team. The data is showing James and Josh locked in neck-and-neck races. When the cycle started, the Cook Political Report rated both Texas and Iowa as favorable to Republicans, and now… they are toss-ups!
These races are going to be incredibly close this fall.
