Dear Jack,

The fresh, clean waters of the Great Lakes are a precious resource. They shape our communities. They support wildlife. They sustain forty million people who depend on them every single day — but right now, pollution, plastics, invasive species, harmful algal blooms, and increased demands from data centers and other large water users are putting them at risk.

Congress has the ability to fund and pass federal programs that can help, like the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. But without their action this year, it will lapse.

Please sign if you agree: Congress should support programs to protect the Great Lakes in 2026.

Take Action

Here’s what Congress must do to protect the Great Lakes:

  • Fully fund the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to clean up toxic hot spots, restore wildlife habitat, reduce harmful algal blooms, and control invasive species
  • Reauthorize and fund essential drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure programs
  • Fund the next phase of construction for a series of barriers to stop invasive carp from entering the Great Lakes
  • Take steps to reduce polluted runoff from farms and stop plastic pollution from entering our waters

We must all raise our collective voices to protect the lakes we love and depend on. Please take a moment to sign if you agree that Congress should protect the Great Lakes in 2026.

Thanks for taking action,
