Grassroots online donors are the backbone of my independent campaign for U.S. Senate. I'm proud of that. I don’t take money from corporate PACs or billionaires, just people like you giving what they can when they can.

But that commitment means we have to work extra hard to raise what it takes to win.

And today marks two weeks until the last full fundraising quarter before Election Day closes on September 30th. After that, our numbers go public — the report the whole country reads to judge whether this race is real. So we've got two choices between now and then: either a lot more people chip in, or the donations we do get have to be a little larger.

So here's my honest ask: if you could make a donation today of $25 or anything you can afford, we'd be in a great position to hit our goal before the deadline. What do you say? [ [link removed] ]

This matters more than a normal ask, and I'll tell you why plainly: we have to report exactly how much we raised at the end of this quarter, hit or miss. A strong number tells reporters, forecasters, and Mike Rounds' own campaign that an independent tied with him in the polls is a real threat to his re-election. A weak one tells them the opposite.

That report is one of the last big signals before people vote.
