Yesterday is a day I’ll never forget, friend.

Smoke from California’s wildfires, which this year alone have already burned an area more than twice the size of Rhode Island, blotted out the sun and blanketed the Bay Area in an orange glow.

This is not normal. We need to show everyone what the climate crisis looks like. From fires on the West Coast to hurricanes bombarding the Gulf Coast — this is real, and I’m asking you to share your climate reality. Record a video or take a picture and share it on social media with the hashtag #MyClimateReality.

Here’s what really angers me: We didn’t have to be here. We wasted decades of scientists’ warnings by debating whether climate change is real. It is real. And it’s happening right now. The orange skies in San Francisco, that is my climate reality.

Yes, we need a major policy shift to get our country back on track to avoiding climate catastrophe. That means electing leaders who will make bold plans. But that also means creating an undeniable public consensus that enough is enough — it’s past due for climate action.

So share your story with the hashtag *#MyClimateReality* and help us amplify the urgency of climate action. This is not a far off problem. This is happening right now.
