This weekend Bo French — the GOP’s candidate for Texas Railroad Commissioner — saw a group of young Texans celebrating together at their own college football game and got online to say some of the most bigoted stuff I’ve ever seen from a statewide candidate.
Let’s be very clear: There is nothing un-American about a crowd that reflects the incredible diversity of the people who call America home. That diversity is not something to mock or fear —
it is America. It’s Texas.
And this kind of intolerant horsesh*t is exactly why people are leaving the Texas GOP behind right now.

Trends have been shifting blue all year, from the special election in Tarrant County in January to Democratic turnout in the primary to polls showing both Gina Hinojosa and James Talarico neck and neck with Abbott and Paxton.
Voters are pissed off. I'm pissed off. And right now we need to channel that anger into support for every Democratic candidate who will fight back, because Texans should expect better than this xenophobic garbage from anyone who wants to represent us.
