We wanted to share Bishop Mutti's funeral information. Bishop Albert Frederick “Fritz” Mutti died on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, at the age of 88. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, 4725 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064-1985. A luncheon reception will follow the service, and the burial, about a 30-minute drive from the church, will follow lunch.

Bishop Mutti had deep roots in Missouri and in the life of our Annual Conference. Born in Hopkins, Missouri, he was ordained and a member in full connection in the previous Missouri West Conference. He was elected to the episcopacy by the South Central Jurisdictional Conference in 1992 and served the Kansas Area until his retirement in 2004.
