County Commissioners to hear 2027 departmental budget requests September 21-23
(Port Orchard, WA) - The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners will begin its review of departmental requests for the 2027 County budget September 21-23. The public is invited to attend the presentations in person or watch and listen online.
During the three-day review, County departments and offices will present their proposed 2027 budgets to the Board. Commissioners will be joined by an advisory group that includes a citizen representative from each Commissioner District and an organized labor representative.
Budget Hearing Schedule
Monday, September 21: 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. – Administrative Services, Risk Management, Public Defense, Assessor, Treasurer, Public Works, Board of County Commissioners, and Prosecutor
Tuesday, September 22: 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. – Medical Examiner, Auditor & Elections, Sheriff, Clerk, Emergency Management, Juvenile Services, and Kitsap Public Health District
Wednesday, September 23: 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. –Community Development, Superior Court, District Court, Human Services, Information Services, Parks, and Human Resources
All sessions will be held in the Commissioners Chambers at 619 Division Street in Port Orchard. Zoom information for each session is available on the Kitsap County e-Agenda page. If you cannot attend in-person, the hearings will be broadcast on BKAT and available to watch online.
Budget deliberations will continue throughout the fall, with opportunities for public input during the process. Residents may also provide comments by email at [email protected].
The Board is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the proposed 2027 budget before final adoption in December. The hearing will be held during the Board’s Regular Meeting on Monday, December 7, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
