Dear Friend,
We're writing with some important news out of Colombia. As the
Colombian government prepares to resume its herbicide aerial spraying
program-used to eradicate the crops from which cocaine and other
illicit drugs are produced-the reproductive health of its people
is at risk.
Our new research report, published in partnership with Colombia-based
Universidad del Valle, shows that glyphosate, the herbicide used in
the program, causes harmful effects on fertility. This dangerous
chemical has also been linked to miscarriages and other problems with
pregnancy. Using the findings from this study, we are calling upon the
government to protect the health of all Colombians and stop the
glyphosate program from moving forward.

Last week, we launched a digital campaign to educate the public about
this issue on social media and video. Joined by dozens of Colombian
partners, influencers, and celebrities, we urged Colombia to protect
its citizens and avoid causing any harm that affects the health, life,
and reproductive autonomy of all people in the country.

Next, we plan to present this research to the Truth Commission of
Colombia, an organization established to investigate human rights
violations from Colombia's decades-long armed conflict.
