I want to explain how campaigns actually work, because it matters far more than most of the fundraising deadlines you hear about.

Television time gets bought months in advance.

The main House Republican super PAC booked its fall advertising back in the spring. They reserved $153 million worth of ads across the country, the biggest initial reservation in the group's history.

More than $10 million of that is already reserved against me here in Southwest Washington.

And that's just one Republican group.

Donald Trump's MAGA Inc. is sitting on more than $400 million. Elon Musk has authorized at least $100 million in spending to help Republicans this fall.

These aren't numbers someone made up for a fundraising email. This is money that already exists. And Republicans know exactly which races they need to win.

And I’m at the top of their list. 

So when millions of dollars in attacks start running against me this fall, we can't wait until then to figure out how we'll respond.

The money to answer them needs to be sitting in our account already.

I know this is not the most exciting email I could send you. But I'd rather tell you how this actually works than pretend every fundraising deadline is an emergency.

Here's the hard part.

The Speaker of the House came to Southwest Washington last month to raise money for my opponent. He told the room this district will help decide who controls the House.

He's right about that.

They know exactly what this seat is worth, and they budgeted for it a long time ago.

I don't have a super PAC. I've never taken corporate PAC money. What I have is people chipping in $5 and $10.

And our biggest advantage right now is time.

If we build the resources now, we can respond when it matters instead of watching millions of dollars in attacks hit the air while we scramble to catch up.

Will you chip in $5 today, while we still have the most ability to prepare?

A contribution now gives us more options than the same contribution in October. That's not a sales pitch. It's just how the calendar works.
