On Sunday morning, Jake Tapper played Mike Johnson video of one of his endorsed House candidates using language about children too vulgar for us to print here. Then footage of the same candidate firing a Nazi-era submachine gun. Then goose-stepping to a Nazi marching song.
Johnson's response? He called the guy "very thoughtful" and said: "When you get to Congress – and he will be there – you're gonna join this team and help us save America."
That's the Speaker of the House. On national television. Telling you there is no line he won't cross to protect his majority.
And here's why: Johnson is holding the House by four seats. Four. He knows it, which is why he's out endorsing and fundraising for candidates he has to publicly apologize for in the same breath.
