Hey, friend — it’s Deb. Can I tell you a bit about my story?

From my great-grandmother, mother, and many before them, I’m blessed to come from generations of Pueblo women who taught me what it means to be fierce and resilient.

Some of my earliest memories are of watching my grandmother bake bread in her mud oven and stir huge pots of posole. I’d perch myself outside and watch her through the window for hours. To this day, there’s nothing I enjoy more than making traditional New Mexican meals for my friends and family. 

For me, cooking has always been a way to foster connection and build community, which is exactly what we’re doing now in this campaign. I’ve had the chance to sit down with New Mexicans in living rooms, at kitchen tables, in restaurants, parks — in all 33 counties — to hear about their lives, their struggles, and their hopes for the future. Those conversations are a reminder of just how high the stakes are in this race and why I’m in it: to fight for and deliver for New Mexicans.

Friend, more and more, we are seeing extremism take place and a President who isn’t fighting for us. Democratic Governors — including this seat right here in New Mexico — are essential to serve as a backstop when the federal government abuses its resources and undermines civil liberties. 

As Governor, I will fight to expand healthcare access, lower costs, build stronger schools, and invest in safer communities. Meanwhile, the Republicans in this race want to open New Mexico to Trump’s extremist agenda. That’s why this race is so important. 

Fox News is calling New Mexico a top flip opportunity for Republicans. Now more than ever, the support of every single member of this team matters.
