Nevada. Arizona. Michigan. Georgia.
These four are critical battleground states for our Democratic Secretaries of State to win in November.
Nevada: DASS Chair Cisco Aguilar is up against Jim Marchant – a QAnon election denier who lost to Cisco by only 2 points in 2022. Marchant has Trump’s full-throated endorsement.
Arizona: Incumbent Adrian Fontes is in a tight contest with Alex Kolodin, who represented the MAGA Republicans that tried to overturn Arizona’s 2020 presidential election results. This will be Adrian’s second time going against a MAGA election denier.
Michigan: Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist is working to uphold outgoing Secretary Jocelyn Benson’s legacy of defending voting rights. This open seat is a key one to protect for DASS.
Georgia: Penny Brown Reynolds is ready to flip Georgia from red to blue against a MAGA Republican that wants to restrict ballot access for Georgians. With Georgia being ground zero for Trump’s 2020 election interference, this is our best chance of gaining another Democratic Secretary of State.
As you can see, a lot is on the line for our Secretaries of State this November.
Across the country, officials have faced immense attacks from Trump and election deniers left and right. And if we can’t win in these crucial states, our election systems are at risk in 2028 and beyond.
Winning them is our chance to ensure free and fair elections, John.
