"Senate GOP COVID-19 Relief Bill Fails; Chances Of Bipartisan Deal Before Election Dim"
-- September 10, 2020
John xxxxxx,
Today, Senator Mitch McConnell's COVID-19 "relief" package failed to pass through the Senate.
Unlike the Heroes Act, which the House passed over four months ago, the Senate's plan leaves out funding for state and local governments. It doesn't include food assistance for children. It offers zero relief to families evicted from their homes.
Worst of all, McConnell — a politician worth $22.5 million — thinks working families would be able to scrape by on a meager $300 per week. He needs to face the facts: This plan doesn't work for working people.
Join Hakeem now in calling on McConnell and his Republican allies to quit playing political games with our lives. We need the Heroes Act NOW. Add your name today.

Unlike McConnell's "relief" plan, House Democrats' relief package provides essential funding to fight this pandemic as well as funding for additional stimulus checks, health care benefits, and so much more. It makes it all the more concerning that McConnell doesn't understand the urgency of this crisis.
McConnell and the Republican Senate have been letting the Heroes Act sit untouched while our country continues to face a public health crisis that has taken over 191,000 lives. We are tired of waiting, John xxxxxx.
Sign on to tell McConnell: we need the Heroes Act, and we need it NOW.
