First: There was a shift in Texas.
Democrats showed up with a mission during the March primary. In this
year’s primary, Democrats cast more ballots than Republicans for the first
time since the 2020 open Democratic presidential primary.
Then: They shut down polling locations in Tarrant County on Election Day
during the Primary election.
Tarrant County is Texas’ third most populous district. A plan was just
approved to shut down 92 polling locations for November’s midterms. This
is roughly a 30% reduction in locations for constituents to cast ballots,
leaving only 224 locations to serve the county’s 1.3 million voters.
Now: They’ve added millions of voters to the “voter suspense list.”
These tactics are designed to discourage people from voting. They’re
betting on people staying home, discouraged. The stakes of this race are
only increasing. It’s clear Texans want real change, and Republicans are
doing everything in their power to stop this.
But we won’t let that happen. New polling shows a tie between Gina and
Greg Abbott, and our movement has more momentum than ever. We’re counting
on your support to help continue this momentum through November.
