ACCESS kicks off a new voter engagement initiative

ACCESS is ramping up its civic engagement efforts by launching reoccurring voting rights events that will be scheduled every week until early November.

The first event, “Bites, Ballots, and Be Counted,” will be held today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community Health and Research Center parking lot (6450 Maple St., Dearborn, MI).

Attendees will be guided through a drive-thru, one-stop-shop of services including:
* Voter registration
* Census assistance
* Free food provided by Rafic's Falafel
* Free ice cream provided by Star Ice Cream

This year, in light of COVID-19, voter engagement efforts will look a little different. To ensure and maintain the health and safety of all attendees, today’s event will require attendees to remain in their vehicles and drive up to each station to receive services.

This is a weekly event that will be held in different locations across the greater metro-Detroit area to make these services more accessible for marginalized communities. Follow ACCESS on social media for the latest updates!
