We are now less than 54 days from the most consequential election of our lifetime and less than 20 days from our final FEC deadline of the cycle.

With the final post-Labor Day stretch now in front of us, we’re pulling out all the stops to get our message out and ensure a victory in November. Just one look at the news everyday shows why we can’t take anything for granted - Trump and his allies in Washington will stop at nothing, and I mean NOTHING, to win. 

At the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic has upended our usual model of grassroots voter contact - forcing us to rely on paid television and radio advertising, digital outreach and other means to connect to voters and get across the finish line. 

My team and I are making some critical decisions right now about where to spend our resources. With the Republicans in Connecticut finally fielding a candidate against me, it is game on in an election where COVID will create additional costs for communications, paid media, signs, and digital advertising, that we have not seen for quite some time.

Will you help us before our September 30^th FEC deadline so we are able to present our positive message to Eastern Connecticut Voters?

With absentee ballots applications already being sent out, the reality is that voters will start receiving their first ballots in less than a month, in early October. The first votes of this election will be cast in only a few short weeks in Connecticut, and we expect a record turnout. 

One thing is clear from the recent primary in our state - Eastern Connecticut is ready to take this election on! In the August primary, more than 50% of voters who cast a ballot did so using an absentee ballot under COVID-19 authorities. And while turnout was essentially even between the two parties in 2016, Democratic turnout in our region outpaced republican turnout nearly 2 to 1. 

Eastern Connecticut is ready for change in November. With many voters expected to cast their ballot from home this year, we’ve got to work harder and get our message out sooner than ever before. That is why I need your help today to fund our plan to do just that.
