Hey, it’s Ayana. I’m Mike’s Press Secretary.

Though Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith has been hiding all summer while Mississippians (and our economy) suffer, she hasn’t stopped tweeting. Every day, she brags about her so-called accomplishments on Twitter.

But as it turns out — much like Donald Trump — one of Cindy Hyde-Smith’s “accomplishments” is a complete and total lie.

Hyde-Smith claims she voted to extend the Children’s Health Insurance Program (otherwise known as CHIP) through fiscal year 2027. But that vote took place in early 2018 and was made by her predecessor, Senator Thad Cochran, two months before Hyde-Smith was even appointed.

No wonder Confederate Cindy says she supports Donald Trump “100% of the time.” Just like Trump, Senator Hyde-Smith is spreading falsehoods on Twitter and trying to take credit for other people’s work.

It's never been more clear that we must replace Cindy Hyde-Smith on November 3. Please chip in $10 now, or whatever you can, to have a real impact on helping Mike Espy defeat this do-nothing senator.

But wait — the lie gets deeper.

Not only did Hyde-Smith lie about voting to extend CHIP funding: She actually voted to consider cutting $7 billion from that very program.

Keep in mind — CHIP provides critical coverage for thousands of Mississippi children who would otherwise not have health care coverage. State leaders should be working to expand health care coverage for everyone, not cut funding from one of our most important health care programs.

If you agree it’s time to replace this lying, hiding senator who wants to take health care coverage away from vulnerable children, please chip in just $10, or whatever you can right now, to help elect Mike Espy.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

We can get it done and elect a real, independent leader to represent Mississippi to the U.S. Senate — but only if we do it together.

Thanks,

Ayana Kinnel
