campaign doesn't make up fake deadlines. That's just not our style.
At the end of this month, we’re facing a real, federally mandated deadline
— set by the Federal Election Commission, or FEC for short. Let me
explain:
* Every quarter, the FEC requires campaigns to publicly report every
dollar we raised and every dollar we spent. Our books close at the end
of September, and shortly after, that report goes fully public.
* This is our first quarterly FEC deadline of the general election. Our
report will cover this campaign's initial strength coming out of the
primary.
* Everyone will be reading it — including Mike Rogers, MAGA billionaire
donors, and the corporate PACs. They’ll be looking for any signs of
weakness.
John, it’s
incredibly important that we file the strongest report possible to ward
off any more GOP Super PACs from dumping even more money into Michigan.
But we’re running a 100% people-powered campaign. I’m fully relying on
members of this team to pitch in and help us make sure our report tells
the story of a campaign that's ready to take on Big Money once again, win,
and deliver for working people in the U.S. Senate.
