Recently, President Trump signed pardons for five gun owners who were wrongfully convicted by ATF. Those convicted included Tate Adamiak, an individual whose story has become an example of the Biden ATF's goal: prosecuting law-abiding gun owners for technical errors, going as far as to even fabricate evidence to support their case. We at GOA want to thank President Trump for pardoning these innocent gun owners and working to restore the Second Amendment! *** Next, Gun Owners of America filed our amicus brief in the largest Second Amendment case since Bruen. Viramontes v. Cook County deals with the ownership of AR15s and similar style semi-automatic rifles, and could potentially overturn unconstitutional so-called "assault weapons" bans nationwide. *** And finally, 21 Attorneys General across the country are urging Congress to abolish the National Firearms Act! This comes after GOA's historic win against the registration requirements of the NFA in our "One Big Beautiful Lawsuit." |

This week, President Trump pardoned five gun owners who were wrongfully prosecuted and convicted by ATF. Those convicted included Tate Adamiak, an individual whose story has become an example of ATF's overreach and drive to prosecute law-abiding gun owners for technical errors, going as far as to even fabricate evidence to support their case. George Peterson was another example of this. GOA filed an amicus brief the case US v. Peterson, which involved a situation where Mr. Peterson, an FFL holder, was prosecuted by ATF for having a homemade suppressor in his safe. The others pardoned were Russell Fincher, Jeremy Kettler and Shane Cox, more victims of ATF's weaponized bureaucracy under the Biden-Harris administration. GOA was involved in both the Kettler and Cox cases as well. We at GOA want to thank President Trump for pardoning these five individuals and working to make sure the the federal government respects the Second Amendment rights of all Americans. |

We at GOA just filed an amicus brief in one of the most important Second Amendment cases in years, Viramontes v. Cook County. This case poses a simple question to the Supreme Court: "Whether the Second and Fourteenth Amendments guarantee the right to possess AR-15 platform and similar semiautomatic rifles" We know the answer is clearly YES. We were glad to be joined in our filing by some of our industry partners, including Century Arms, Canik, B&T USA, and Fostech! We'll be watching this case closely as it heads to oral arguments before SCOTUS on December 2nd. |
And finally, 21 Attorneys General, led by AG Tim Griffin of Arkansas, are urging Congress to abolish the NFA! Thanks to GOA's historic win in our "One Big Beautiful Lawsuit," these Attorneys General have sent a letter to congressional leadership, urging them to abolish the NFA. In their letter, the Attorneys General ask Congress to: "Remove the enforcement threat and ensure that no citizen is subject to these unconstitutional provisions." We wholeheartedly agree with these AGs, and we'll be working overtime in Congress to ensure that the NFA is completely abolished. Thank you to these patriotic AGs who co-signed this letter in defense of our Second Amendment rights! |
