Last weekend, I celebrated Labor Day in Fairbanks, walking in their annual parade alongside the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 375!

After the parade, we attended the Labor Day picnic and got to meet face-to-face with more Alaskans. As a mother and grandmother who cares deeply about my kids and grandkids having the same abundance in Alaska that I had growing up, this is my favorite part of campaigning by far. ❤️
Whether they’re in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Utqiaġvik or the Aleutians, every Alaskan fundamentally wants the same thing: for our beautiful state to continue to be a place that our kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids can call home.
That starts with making it affordable to live and thrive here. Alaska is the fifth-largest oil producing state in the country, and yet we pay some of the highest prices for gas. In Shungnak, a remote community outside Kotzebue, they’re paying $26.28 per gallon!
And in a massive state that relies so much on shipping, high gas prices mean higher costs for everything. The cost to ship plywood is rising, so the cost of new housing is rising. Groceries cost more. Even basic necessities like Advil or toilet paper can cost $60 to $80 on the North Slope!
These prices aren’t sustainable, and they’re why far too many of our young people are being forced to move to the Lower 48 to build their lives. And rather than work to address the root cause of the problem, Dan Sullivan makes empty promises while voting more than 10 times for the Iran war that’s driving up these prices.
It’s important to me that our campaign always keeps our focus on the needs of everyday working Alaskans. That’s why I’m so committed to reaching as many communities as possible in every corner of the state! After the weekend in Fairbanks, I’m now in Kodiak for a meet & greet and a fisheries debate, and soon I’m going to Valdez, Dillingham, and the North Slope.
We’ve visited 40 communities so far this year, and we’re not slowing down over the next 52 days. But here’s the truth: This way of campaigning is EXPENSIVE. When all is said and done, this is going to be the most expensive campaign in Alaska’s history, and one of the most expensive Senate races in the entire country.
So even though I hate having to ask so often, today I’m humbly asking you to contribute to my campaign here in Alaska. Together, we are building a historic movement made up of tens of thousands of Alaskans in every corner of the state – and you are a critical part of that.
Your support is deeply meaningful to me. As I prepare to take the debate stage today in Kodiak, I know that I’m doing so with the backing of thousands of people across our entire state and country.
