SATURDAY
10.10.2020
Dear John,
We all need examples of people that inspire us and reignite hope. If you’ve attended our Media Awards, Empowering Voices Awards, or Convention, we hope you’ve met such people.
We are planning a very special event for you on Saturday, 10.10.20. “Building a Better Normal ([link removed]) ” is no mere webinar! This is a virtual event as only MPAC can do it. It will be an hour of inspiration, awards, special guests, and surprises. We will also be revealing our roadmap for building a better normal -- because “normal” didn’t work.
You are among the first to know of our first honoree. Join us to honor Rana Ayyub with our “Voice of Courage and Conscience Award.” Registration is free. ([link removed])

Award-winning investigative journalist and author Rana Ayyub is a tenacious reporter covering the rise of authoritarian Hindu nationalism and political corruption. She is an inspiration to millions and her work speaks truth to power. Rana is a Global Opinions Writer at the Washington Post and a vital voice for justice, minority rights, and religious freedom in India.
Going undercover in 2010, she exposed now Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his minister for ties to sectarian violence and mass killings of Muslims. After self-publishing “Gujarat Files: Anatomy of a Cover Up,” ([link removed]) she came under intense threats and harassment, prompting UN Special Rapporteurs to issue official statements calling for her protection.
Despite these threats and the government's efforts to silence her, Rana stands for the same principles we need to build a better “normal” in America -- an unwavering commitment to journalistic integrity, the pursuit of truth no matter the cost, and giving voice to the voiceless.

I look forward to seeing you at the virtual event.
In peace,
Salam
