In a surprise to absolutely no one, "Trump-a-palooza" was a complete and total disaster.
First, they didn't sell nearly as many tickets as they said they would, even after sending desperate last-minute appeals for free VIP seats.
It just goes to show how out of touch the GOP elites are that they actually thought people would want to spend tens of thousands (yes, really) on tickets to see one of the least popular presidents in history, at one of his lowest moments.
Then, Republican politicians running in battleground districts declined to show face, too. They know that Trump is a disaster for their campaigns. But they can’t hide from their failed record of higher prices, new forever wars, and healthcare cuts.
We need to make this event backfire even more than it already has.
Trump obviously doesn't have the capacity for embarrassment, but we can hit him where it hurts: his campaign coffers.
