DEVELOPING… Trump’s EPA recently put out ANOTHER proposal to cut communities out of the data center approval process, eliminating a requirement for public input on permit applications for data centers.
Trump is making a desperate move to fast-track these centers before the election to deliver more handouts to the billionaire CEOs of tech and fossil fuel companies angling to power their data centers. In a recent press conference, he stated “you can’t fight it, you have to go with it.”
Tech companies have been building gas-burning plants to power many of these new data centers. If the EPA proposal is finalized, it gives these corporations a free pass to spew toxic pollution that causes asthma, respiratory illnesses, heart disease, cancer, and other serious health issues — all while taking away your right to know what’s happening in your own backyard and to speak out against data center development in your community.

We need your help. There’s a narrow window to stop the EPA’s proposal before it takes effect. It’s going to take all of us to stop them. So we’re asking:
In a separate post, Trump has called to “let Data Reign”— and even mocked communities opposing data centers as “backwards and poor.”
But Trump’s approval ratings have reached a record low. And new research is showing that favorability for fossil-fueled data centers — that would raise utility costs for everyday people — is even lower. That’s true among Democrats, Independents, and even MAGA Republicans. NO ONE wants data centers shoved down their communities’ throats.
What that means is that there’s a real shot at stopping him. Many Republican lawmakers see the writing on the wall: backing Trump’s data center play will sink their careers. With the November elections less than two months away, this is THE moment to apply pressure.
What happens next depends on you. We need to make sure that every single voter hears about Trump’s plans. That means showing up in key states and districts nationwide, rallying grassroots opposition, and holding vulnerable Republicans accountable for backing the president’s schemes to bulldoze communities for data centers and fossil-fueled power plants.
