On the 25th anniversary of the
Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, the
International Peace Coalition in its 171st consecutive meeting took up
the question of how 9/11 opened up a new chapter of history in the
world launching a process of global wars on nations abroad, while
conducting universal surveillance on citizens at home.
American economist and statesman
Lyndon LaRouche, in a webcast given on January of 2001, had warned how
a Reichstag-fire event would usher in a fascist-style dictatorship
that year, due to the breakdown of the international financial system
and the implosion of the monetary bubbles associated with it at the
time. The video of that webcast was played during the proceedings of
the International Peace Coalition.
In the 25th anniversary of 9/11,
and the 250th anniversary of the United States, there must be a
reconciliation among the American citizenry with the truth, if
humanity is to survive. An example of that was provided by national
chair of 9/11 Families United Terry Strada at the National 9/11
memorial ceremony in New York City. She spoke the truth, quite
bluntly, about the cover-up of Saudi Arabia’s role in the 9/11 attacks
by the Bush and Obama Administrations, and how there has been no
truthful narrative about what really happened on that day. In a very
clear and calm voice, she said: “My husband Tom Strada. You are missed
more with each year that passes. But how can it be 25 years and still
we have no justice for the role that Saudi Arabia played in your
murder?
“Yes, we finally made it into a
court and have proved that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fermented a
rancid culture of anti-
American terrorism around the globe and then sent its agents to
support the radical Islamist hijackers so they could attack you and
all of our loved ones. But for 25 years, administration after
administration, including leaders in front of us here today, chose to
protect the Saudis instead of standing with the 9/11 families. They
withheld evidence. They vetoed JASTA. They broke promises—both public
and private.”
Yesterday’s IPC meeting received
a greeting from Terry Strada. Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern gave a
presentation on an exchange between Vice President Dick Cheney and an
aide during the attacks on 9/11, where Cheney appeared to had called
for a “stand down” order as a hijacked plane appeared to be
approaching Washington.
As McGovern also said to that
meeting, we have to act as our forefathers would have done, in order
to keep our republic, and to get a hold of ourselves, and our role
today in acting as citizens.
