Schvitzing. That's Yiddish for sweating, John. I heard this word a lot growing up in Alabama during summer visits to my grandparents’ house, and I’ve found myself saying it a lot on the campaign trail lately.
I've done my schvitzing in worse places. On deployment in the Middle East, I was responsible for eight nuclear reactors. Those engineering spaces run hot.
So a September afternoon in Hampton Roads doesn't scare me.
Since the primary, our team has knocked hundreds of doors across Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and the Eastern Shore.
We’re focusing our efforts on the houses that don’t have a sign in the yard, and on the people who tell us that they're not sure voting makes a difference either way.
You can't have that conversation from a TV ad. You can only have it face-to-face on their front porch. Schvitzing just comes with the territory.
Your support makes it all possible: organizers with clipboards, gas for long drives across the district, cold water on a hot day. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what flipped this seat in 2018, and it’s what will flip it again in November.
Will you chip in today so we can expand our get-out-the-vote operations in the final stretch of this race? With our critical FEC end-of-quarter deadline at the end of the month, every last penny counts. [[link removed]]

Back out there tomorrow.
