I’ve always been guided by the values I was raised with in Minnesota.

My grandfather was an iron ore miner who spent his days working 1,500 feet underground. He never graduated high school because he had to help raise his nine brothers and sisters. But he saved what money he could in a coffee can in the basement to send my dad to college.

My mom was a schoolteacher, and my dad was a newspaperman. They bought my childhood home in Plymouth with a GI loan.

That's what a fair shot looked like then. I’m running for governor because every Minnesotan deserves the chance to afford a home and build a future today.

Minnesotans expect leaders who deliver results, not excuses. That’s what I’ve done as your Senator, and that’s what I will do as your next Governor.
