I know I’ve been writing to you a lot about Trump’s attacks on science and his attempts to dismantle our democracy recently.

And there’s a reason for that: the stakes this November are enormous.

But I also believe serving in Congress has to mean more than opposing Trump. It has to mean fighting for a better future for the people we represent.

If I’m going to ask you to invest your hard-earned money in this campaign, you deserve to know exactly what I’m fighting for.

I’m fighting for an economy that works for middle-class families. I’m working every day in Congress to lower costs, protect small businesses, expand the Child Tax Credit and SALT deduction, and stand up to corporations that take advantage of consumers.

I’m fighting for reproductive freedom. As a doctor, I know these deeply personal healthcare decisions belong to women and their doctors, not politicians.

I’m fighting for lower prescription drug prices. No one should struggle to afford lifesaving medicine, and I’ll keep working to bring costs down.

And I’m fighting to protect our democracy and the right to vote, because every eligible American has a constitutional right to a voice in choosing their leaders.

That’s what public service means to me: lowering costs, protecting our rights, and keeping our families healthy.
