*Purpose:* The proposed project would extend approximately 11.2 miles along US 83. The existing typical section consists of a rural two-lane undivided highway with alternating passing lanes within a 100-foot-wide right of way. The proposed project would: widen US 83 within an approximate 470-foot-wide right of way and be constructed in two phases: Phase I (interim design) would primarily widen US 83 to a four-lane divided highway and Phase II (ultimate design) would widen US 83 by constructing frontage roads on either side of the interim design mainlanes.
