The fossil fuel industry receives billions of dollars in direct federal giveaways EVERY YEAR from your tax dollars!

That’s why Representatives Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Nanette Barragán (D-CA), as well as Senators Sanders (I-VT), Merkley (D-OR), and Markey (D-MA) have introduced the End Polluter Welfare Act of 2020. This bill would eliminate these ridiculous handouts and abolish tax loopholes Congress gives to fossil fuel billionaires.

Tell your Members of Congress to cut off the flow of public dollars to corporate polluters and cosponsor the End Polluter Welfare Act.

Climate change is happening now; it’s fundamentally dangerous to continue to subsidize fossil fuels at the exact moment we need to stop the extraction and burning of coal, oil and gas.

The End Polluter Welfare Act is a vital step toward moving us off fossil fuels. This legislation would eliminate dozens of tax loopholes and subsidies that benefit fossil fuel billionaires and prevent the fossil fuel industry from taking COVID-19 relief funds.

Subsidizing dirty energy companies is reckless. Taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for the bad business decisions of the failing fossil fuel industry.

Every dollar Congress gives away to failing dirty energy companies is a dollar taken from vaccine research, supplies for hospitals and economic relief for struggling families. Priorities matter — and Congress needs to be reminded of that.

Tell Congress our money SHOULD NOT be going into the pockets of fossil fuel executives.
