The purpose of the local convention is to deliberate, debate, and ultimately democratically decide the direction the chapter will go for the next year of organizing. We will also be electing our chapter leadership for the 2020-2021 term and deciding our political endorsements for local and statewide political office. Remember that the convention is only open to members in good standing.
For a full run down on the proposed resolutions, bylaw amendments, candidates for our chapter leadership, and candidates for local and statewide political office seeking our endorsement make sure to check out our website devoted to all things convention.
We're excited to be hosting a Candidate Forum on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2-3:30pm where you can get to know the candidates running for our chapter leadership. Along with chapter members running for internal leadership positions, we will be hearing from candidates for local political office including gig workers and drivers against Proposition 22.
No registration is necessary to attend the candidate forum. Simply log into zoom a few minutes before the forum and tune in. The zoom link can be found below and our website for the local convention. We will be recording the forum for folks who cannot make it. Voting and debate on the candidates for internal leadership and political endorsements will take place at the convention itself.
