Relaunching Youth Justice Wisconsin, HR1's Impacts on Immigrants, & more

Dear John,

Over the past several weeks, we relaunched Youth Justice Wisconsin, announced local school food grantees, explained HR1 impacts on Wisconsin's immigrant families, and more. Read on.

Join the Youth Justice Wisconsin Coalition

Youth Justice Wisconsin is a statewide coalition of youth, families, service providers, advocates, educators, attorneys and more united to advance meaningful youth justice systems change.

Care Over Criminalization

Every young person deserves the opportunity to grow, heal, and thrive – not be defined by one mistake. Yet, state decision makers continue to prioritize incarceration over prevention, treatment, and community-based support. Why do we spend so much taxpayer money on youth incarceration instead of reforms, which research shows improve youth outcomes and public safety?

Local School Food: Grantees Announced!

The Lake Michigan School Food System Innovation Hub announced the 2026 grantees from Wisconsin who will lead collaborative projects to bring more local, nourishing food to K–12 schools. These projects are part of a multi-state effort to strengthen connections between Midwest farmers, industry partners, food producers, and K–12 schools.

HR 1’s Impact on Wisconsin’s Immigrant Families

The wealthy few have long divided us by race and background as they hoard wealth. A recent example: HR1 gutted health care and food assistance while funding tax breaks for the rich. Our new factsheet breaks down how these cuts will impact Wisconsin's immigrant families, and what resources may be available.

Sincerely,

Daithi Wolfe, Kids Forward
