MAYOR'S MESSAGE:

In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, Metro Louisville and Louisville Zoo will host its inaugural First Responders Weekend, September 11–13. Every day, our first responders answer the call to serve others, often putting themselves in harm’s way to protect our community. Their dedication, courage, and commitment make Louisville a safer place to live, work, and raise a family. First Responders Weekend is a meaningful way to show our appreciation and thank these heroes for everything they do for our city.

SAFER:

The new Seven Counties Crisis center was opened this week, including facilities for both youth and adult crisis counseling. We're sending a clear message that access to quality mental health resources is a priority for our community. Together, we listen to our community. We recognized a challenge our community was facing, and we jumped in to fill that gap. This is a great example of how we can solve our big challenges in Louisville.

Ford Motor Company announced this week they are planning to build a new $1 billion paint shop at the Kentucky Truck Plant in east Louisville. Ford’s announcement is a vote of confidence in our city and shows the world that Louisville is an incredible place to grow a business. On Wednesday, the brand new FitCore Extreme Obstacle Course was unveiled at Algonquin Park. Every child deserves access to a safe, quality place to play close to home, and this new obstacle course gives kids in the Algonquin neighborhood a unique way to challenge themselves and simply have fun.
