John,

On September 2, 1946, Ayn Rand sat down and began writing Atlas Shrugged — a novel about what happens when a society decides that the people who build things are the enemy, and the people who tear them down are the heroes.

She wove that date into the novel itself.

Ayn Rand chose September 2 intentionally.

Now, eighty years later, her warning reads less like fiction and more like a forecast.

A March 2025 survey by Cato Institute and YouGov found that 62% of Americans aged 18 to 29 view socialism favorably. That's a majority of the next generation, taught to see the builders as villains and the takers as heroes.

I'm Jennifer Anju Grossman, CEO of The Atlas Society. I've spent ten years fighting the lie of socialism using Ayn Rand’s work.

Today, on the anniversary of the day Ayn Rand picked up her pen to fight it too, I'm asking you to join me.

Chip in $10 today, and you'll help reach 2,000 young minds with the ideas that can turn this around.

Give $100 or more, and I'll send you our "Make Atlas Shrugged Fiction Again" hat, so you can wear your answer to the culture.

If you've made it this far, you already sense why this fight matters. But here’s the challenge…

Only 12% of young people read fiction daily for fun today. Fifty years ago, that number was 70%. Meanwhile, the average young person spends more than nine hours a day online.

They're not reading Ayn Rand's warnings. They're scrolling past them.

And so that’s where we start. Engaging young people with Ayn Rand’s ideas in formats they already enjoy and consume: animated videos, book trailers, music videos, and edgy memes.

Ayn Rand called envy "the hatred of the good for being good." She wrote that line decades before TikTok, decades before a socialist could win a mayoral race in America's financial capital. She still nailed it.

That's exactly why, John, your support matters so much right now.

For the past ten years, I’ve led the team taking Ayn Rand’s works and ideas to the next generation. We produced an animated book trailer that drew more than 12 million views and doubled the novel's sales in the months that followed. We turned Ayn Rand's fiction into graphic novels, now nearly 400,000 copies strong, and put them in the hands of readers at Comic Cons across the country. We've built a Draw My Life series, 42 videos deep, that dramatizes the themes of Atlas Shrugged — the fight between reason, achievement, freedom, envy, collectivism, and entitlement .

How did this happen? It happened because donors like you decided that reason, achievement, and individualism were worth fighting for.

And it's working. Every year, more young people discover Dagny, Rearden, and Galt for the first time, on platforms the old gatekeepers long ignored. The moonshot has always been audacious: engaging one billion young minds with the ideas of Ayn Rand. That goal is closer than it's ever been.

John, this Atlas Shrugged Day, that's the future I'm asking you to help build.

Every $10 you give reaches 2,000 young minds with Ayn Rand's ideas. And that hat is still waiting for anyone who gives $100 or more. It's a reminder that Ayn Rand's dystopia was a warning. Not a plan.
