What to Expect on September 15

To ensure the website remains available during periods of high demand, MDIFW uses a virtual queue system.

* If you arrive *before 9:30am* you will be placed in a virtual waiting room.
* At *9:30am* everyone in the waiting room will be assigned a random position in the queue.
* Joining the waiting room early does *not* provide an advantage over other hunters who are waiting when the sale begins.
* Hunters who arrive after 9:30am will be added to the queue in the order they arrive.

While waiting, you'll see an estimated wait time. Please be patient—your opportunity to purchase a permit will come when your turn arrives.

*Don't see the green "Purchase Permit" button at 9:30am?* Try refreshing your browser or clearing your cache.

Reminder: Either-Sex Hunting in Designated WMDs

In Wildlife Management Districts *21–25 and 29*, hunters may harvest *one deer of either sex* during the firearms and muzzleloader seasons under the authority of their regular big game hunting license. This counts as the hunter's one deer for the year.

Hunters wishing to harvest an additional deer must possess an antlerless deer permit.

Either-sex hunting is also allowed during the *Youth Deer Hunt (October 23–24, 2026)* and during the *regular archery season statewide*.
