Not asking for anything, just checking in
Friends,
I know you get a lot of emails from me asking for your support. This isn't one of them.
I just wanted to tell you something that gives me hope.
The way Minnesotans look out for one another.
My single mom worked hard — but needed some help from Section 8, Medicaid, and food stamps to make ends meet. Our neighbors and my aunties looked out for us, and helped us make it all work.
I watched this winter as Minnesotans stepped up for each other as ICE terrorized our communities. People blew whistles, packed lunches, and drove their neighbors’ kids to school.
I still see that spirit everywhere: parents doing everything they can for their kids, teachers staying late for a student who needs a little extra help, neighbors cleaning each other's gutters, checking in on an elder, bringing a meal to someone having a hard week, or standing beside a family that feels scared and alone.
Most of those acts will never make the news. But they are what hold our communities together.
Minnesotans deserve a senator who looks out for them, not for Donald Trump.
I hope this campaign gives you as much hope as it gives me.
