Today, Project ID Action Fund is endorsing two candidates who have shown, through their actual records, that they understand what it takes to build a fairer city: Nithya Raman for Mayor of Los Angeles and Helen Krieger for West Hollywood City Council.
Nithya Raman for Mayor
We endorsed Nithya in her first run for City Council, and we’re doing it again because she has kept doing the work. As a councilmember, she has been one of the city’s most consistent champions for unhoused Angelenos, and she worked directly with our team to find real solutions for getting IDs and vital documents into the hands of the people who need them most to access housing, jobs, and services.
Nithya trained as an urban planner at MIT, and that background shows in how she talks about the housing crisis: not as a talking point, but as a problem with actual solutions. If Los Angeles is going to build its way out of this crisis and finally make real progress on homelessness, it needs a mayor who understands how cities actually get built. Nithya does.

Helen Krieger for West Hollywood City Council
We’re also endorsing Helen Krieger for West Hollywood City Council. Helen has made housing production a real priority, not an abstraction, and she’s one of the few candidates we’ve worked with who genuinely understands the ID issue: what it means to be locked out of services, work, or housing because you don’t have the right documents. She wants to build a West Hollywood that works for everyone in it, and she wants to build it with the community, not around it.
