Dear John,
With less than 60 days until Election Day, seniors need to put their elected officials on notice.
**Social Security and Medicare must not be scapegoated to pay for other fiscal priorities.**
With so much on Congress’ plate at the moment, we need to make it clear that these are your earned benefits. You paid into these programs during your entire working life, and you won’t stand for any so-called “tweaks,” “cuts” or “reforms” that would make it harder for you to afford the rising costs of housing, food, utilities and prescription drugs.
Please sign our petition calling on your U.S. Senators and U.S. Representative to make strengthening Social Security and Medicare a priority by:
Asking the wealthy to pay their fair share into Social Security so this critical program stays solvent
Fully funding the Social Security Administration
Improving the Cost-of-Living Adjustment formula so you receive a fairer and more adequate benefit each year
Strengthening traditional Medicare by reining in abuses by Medicare Advantage plans
Providing caregiver credits when calculating Social Security benefits so people are not penalized for taking time out of the workforce to care for loved ones
Expanding Medicare to cover dental, hearing and vision care
Please sign our petition today and remind our elected officials that senior voters expect their members of Congress to strengthen — not cut — Social Security and Medicare.
This is an extremely uncertain time for your earned benefits, so please don’t sit on the sidelines hoping for the best. Ensure your voice is heard at the highest levels of our government now!
Sincerely,
