John,
It is the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Today, I am reminded of the resilience and bravery of the American people.
I also remember the innumerable lives lost on 9/11, especially those of Philadelphians and their loved ones.
My heart breaks for the lives that were lost in our own state, in Somerset County on Flight 93. It breaks for the countless Philadelphians who lost loved ones in the attacks on the Twin Towers. I am sending love, hope, and compassion to those who are mourning the losses of their loved ones today.
Finally, I am grateful for America’s commitment to freedom, born here in Philadelphia, which remains unshaken despite these horrific attacks.
— Council President Kenyatta Johnson
