Friend,
Imagine living your whole life in a space so small you can barely move. That’s the agonizing existence for millions of animals living on factory farms. Thanks to your support and action, we have been able to pass a number of state-level animal protection laws that require the sale of products from more humane living conditions for farm animals. But a segment of the pork industry wants to double down on these cruel conditions and roll back wins for farm animals across the country.
Right now, pork industry lobbyists are trying to gut vital animal protection laws by sneaking the deceptively-named “Save Our Bacon Act” into the Farm Bill. If they succeed, they could reverse the progress we’ve made for farm animals and undo decades of legal protections for animals and consumers alike.
That’s why we’re reaching out again to ask for your urgent action before this dangerous bill comes to a vote in the Senate. Please take action today: Tell your legislators to oppose any version of the Farm Bill that contains the Save Our Bacon Act or anything like it.

The Senate Agriculture Committee was unable to pass a Farm Bill that contained the Save Our Bacon Act before members left for the August recess. But leaders on that Committee have indicated they plan to take up the Farm Bill as soon as Congress returns, so the pork lobby is making another desperate attempt to force their cruel agenda through. With over 80% of voters supporting better protections for farmed animals, that would mean overriding the will of the people in the name of profits.
We can’t afford to wait and hope for the best. Time is running out to stop the pork industry’s harmful plans. We need a massive push from advocates like you to help ensure the Save Our Bacon Act isn’t part of the final Farm Bill.
Please, friend, add your voice before it’s too late: Urge your legislators to reject the dangerous Save Our Bacon Act and uphold basic protections for farm animals across the country.
