*Listening Session for Individuals with Autism and Families/Guardians*

The Department of Health and Human Services is providing two opportunities for individuals and families to share about what’s working well and areas for improvement in Maine’s system of care for people with autism spectrum disorder.

* *A virtual listening session* will be held on September 21, 3:00-4:30 pm, and participants can share their needs and priorities on topics such as housing, health care, socialization, transportation, and other areas that are important for living a good life and achieving goals.
* *An anonymous online survey* for individuals and families to share their level of satisfaction with current services and providers, as well as share thoughts about what new services could fill gaps. Staff from the Catherine Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine will be conducting both the listening session and the survey.

The goal of these opportunities is to gather input to inform the development of the 2027 Biennial Report for Autism Spectrum Disorder, which describes the efforts of the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, and other agencies to provide services to Mainers with autism.
