  • Something is rotten in the state of North Carolina
    The Left's plan to transform North Carolina into a left-wing stronghold proceeds apace. The three-part plan involves skewing the 2020 Census in favor of Democratic constituencies, boosting turnout of Democratic voters in 2020 to secure a Democratic majority in the North Carolina legislature, and then controlling the redistricting process in 2021.   • Who were Russiagate’s nastiest promoters?
    New York magazine and MSNBC contributor Jonathan Chait went all-in on the most outlandish of the salacious collusion rumors. Hillary Clinton was the highest-profile purveyor of the allegation that Trump was a Russian tool, and she contributed original content to the fraud.   • Who was the largest political donor in the 2016 election? (Hint: It wasn't Soros.)
    California billionaire and former Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer spent $90 million to promote climate change in the 2016 election. Waging war on cheap and abundant electricity is his primary focus. A $120 million campaign to impeach President Trump was another. And Steyer has only begun to fight. Today's Woke Donors



In this episode: Since the initial demonstrations following the death of George Floyd, foundations have pledged over $1 billion to support efforts to combat alleged "systemic racism." In practice, that means more foundations have followed the path of the Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, and Pew Charitable Trusts and abandoned the business-friendly outlooks of their founding donors and adopted the socialist and "woke" outlooks of their Current Year managers.

Joining CRC's Michael Watson to discuss this  troubling development is Naomi Schaefer Riley, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and a senior fellow at the Independent Women's Forum. We discuss the recent turn toward left-wing activism at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the broader problem of Big Philanthropy dishonoring donor intent, and what can be done about it.
