John,
Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed that day.
We remember the thousands of people who lost their lives, the families who lost loved ones and the first responders and ordinary Americans who showed extraordinary courage in the face of devastating tragedy.
We also remember the way people came together in the days that followed. Neighbors helped neighbors. Communities opened their doors. People set aside differences and stood beside one another.
That spirit of compassion and service is worth carrying with us: today and every day.
I’m beyond grateful for those who continue to serve our communities and for all those who remind us what it means to care for and support one another.
With gratitude, determination and love,
Patty Pansing Brooks
