Twenty-five years ago, our country changed forever.
Today I’m thinking about the people who woke up that morning like any other Tuesday. Who poured coffee, dropped kids at school, headed to work, and who never made it home.
I’m thinking about the parents who never got to read another bedtime story. The kids who had to grow up without their mom or dad.
I’m thinking about the first responders who ran toward the towers while everyone else ran away. And I’m thinking of the service members who deployed in the years after, and the families back home counting down the days until they returned.
Today I'm thinking about all of them. The families from that September morning and all the families touched by what came after.
Twenty-five years later, our nation has changed, but we are still here, still standing, and still remembering.
With respect,
Bale Dalton
