If we are going to change Texas, if we are to advance our progressive values, it will be in large part because of the work of people like Rae and programs like Texas Rising.

Hi John,

I wanted to tell you about a story published recently in USA Today.

The piece profiles Leaders of Change across the country, and I couldn't be prouder to tell you that Rae Martinez, the director of TFN's program for young Texans, Texas Rising, has been named one of those leaders!

Watch Rae's interview with USA Today

As we speak, Rae is being the leader that they are and, along with the rest of the Texas Rising team, is busy every day providing training and resources to a rising generation of young Texans poised to become leaders of change themselves.

This is especially important in the coming weeks. We are in the middle of an election season the likes of which we've never seen before. Truly, the progressive values you and I care about are on the line and on the ballot this November.

As we ramp up our voter registration and GOTV efforts, we are looking to our supporters to help bolster our fight. Can you chip in what you can today to help us reach an unprecedented number of voters in the months to come? A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.

If we are going to change Texas, if we are to advance our progressive values, it will be in large part because of the work of people like Rae and programs like Texas Rising. But they need the resources to get the job done. Please consider making a contribution to fund this important work and the change we've all been waiting for.

I hope you're staying safe. Please take care of yourself and those around you.

In the fight,

Val Benavidez
TFN Chief Program Officer and Incoming President
