GOD'S CHILDREN ARE NOT FOR SALE
John,
Nadia was only 15 years old when they went looking for her.
A pastor had called House Parent Project, a children’s home in Mexico. He
knew Nadia was in danger. He even knew the Metro station in Mexico City where
she could often be found.
So the house parents went and they found her.
But to understand what happened next, you need to know where Nadia came from.
She never knew her father. Her mother lived an unstable and dangerous life,
moving from one man to another.
Nadia was the oldest of three little girls. Her youngest sister was given up
for adoption. But Nadia grew up with almost nothing and no one.
She survived on the streets of Mexico City, surrounded by drugs, prostitution,
abandonment, and exploitation.
Imagine being 15 years old and wondering if there is a single adult in this
world you can trust.
That was the girl they found near that Metro station.
There was doubt in Nadia’s eyes. But they asked her to give them a chance.

They told her something every child deserves to hear:
You are loved.
They promised to protect her and help her get an education.
And Nadia willingly went with them.
She left behind a horrible life and came home to parents who would raise her
as their own.
John, Nadia's story is one reason Sound of Freedom Foundation works with
groups like House Parent Project.
My name is Eduardo Verástegui.
I produced the movie Sound of Freedom because after learning what traffickers
do to innocent children, I could not simply look away.
For me, it stopped being a movie.
It became a calling.
Today, the Sound of Freedom Foundation carries that mission forward.
Our mission is simple:
Stop the sale of God’s children.
House Parent Project shares that commitment. Their house parents give these
children the love and care they’ve never known.

And Nadia shows what can happen when a child is not abandoned.
A couple of years after her rescue, the team found Nadia’s sister, Sofía. She
was suffering through many of the same horrors.
They rescued her too. Today, Sofía works full time caring for other children
who have experienced the same kinds of brokenness.
Then something beautiful happened in Nadia’s life.
She met Joseph, who had also grown up in the same Village – the House Parent
Project community.
They fell in love. They married, Joseph became a foreman, and the couple moved
away for several years.
They welcomed a son and daughter of their own.
Yet they kept coming back for Christmas, Mother’s Day, and birthdays.
Their hearts were still with the children.
Finally, in 2019, Nadia and Joseph came home permanently.
Today, they are second in command at one of the large children’s homes.
The child who once needed someone to find her grew up to help care for
children who need to be found.
That is restoration.
That is hope.
And that is why I am writing to you.
Today, House Parent Project cares for, educates and protects between 130 and
150 children in two homes, every single day.

When it is safe, they work to restore children to healthy homes with family
members.
When that cannot happen, the homes may raise these children as their own until
they grow up, get jobs, and go to college.
More than 40 children that were residents stayed to become staff after they
grew up.
Others have grown up and married national pastors and missionaries.
But there's a problem.
The phone never stops ringing.

There is always another child.
Another crisis and another need.
And the resources are slim.
Providing three meals for one child costs about $4 a day.
And that doesn't include clothes, shoes, diapers, or all the other things
children need.

Jesus said:
“Let the little children come to me.” (Matthew 19:14)
I believe we have a duty to hear the cries of children who cannot protect
themselves.
Because when good people stay quiet, evil has room to grow.
But when good people stand together, lives can change.
Nadia is living proof.
John, will you help us stand with House Parent Project and the house parents
caring for children like Nadia today?
Your gift of $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can give helps us continue our
work to protect vulnerable children, and continue the fight against trafficking.

* $25 can help feed a child for nearly a week
* $50 can help feed a child for nearly two weeks
* $100 can help feed a childfor 25 days
* $200 can helpfeed two children for 25 days
That’s three meals every day.

Maybe we cannot answer every call today.
But together, we can help answer the next one.
Please give now.
And please pray for the children and for those caring for them.
Share this mission with someone you love.
Because this truth must be heard around the world:
God’s children are not for sale.
With gratitude and prayer,
