** Big moves at NDR 2026: PM Wong unveils major family support package and plans for Singapore’s future

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced sweeping measures to support families at this year's National Day Rally. They include nearly $70,000 in financial support for each child (from birth to age 17) and extra childcare leave for each parent.

He also unveiled plans for the transformation of Singapore's physical landscape. Several islands south of Jurong Island will be merged into a single larger island that could host advanced manufacturing and power infrastructure.

“We plan fifty, seventy, even one hundred years ahead. That is how our children and grandchildren will inherit a Singapore with more space, more opportunities, and even greater possibilities than what we have today,” said PM Wong. Read more ([link removed]) .
