Election time is here again, and this time I’ve got Republican opposition. I’m writing today to ask for your help!

Hey Team Clowney!

I need your help! It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 2 years since our last election. But the time’s here to do it again, and this time I’ve got Republican opposition. I’m writing today to ask you to consider making a contribution to my campaign for re-election.

When I ran for office, I promised to fight for a safer, healthier, more equitable Arkansas, and over the last two years, I’ve kept that promise. In my first term, I introduced legislation to address gun violence prevention, renters’ rights, workers’ rights, first responders, and juvenile justice ([link removed]) . I sponsored or co-sponsored 19 pieces of legislation ([link removed]) that were signed into law.

Two years ago, I certainly didn’t anticipate that my first term would bring a global pandemic, economic crisis, and a long-overdue reckoning with the systemic racial inequalities that run rampant in our state and country. But it did, and I worked hard to meet those challenges as they came. It’s been the honor of my lifetime to have that chance.

The road ahead of us is long. We have to continue to fight for our public schools, making sure every Arkansan has access to quality public education, starting with pre-K, and we have to protect the educators and staff who make this education possible. We have to fight for an Arkansas whose residents have access to affordable, quality healthcare – and this includes mental healthcare. We must fight for criminal justice reform and for equal rights for our LGBTQ neighbors. We must fight harder for Arkansans with disabilities, and those who were born in another country.

I haven’t done and couldn’t do any of this work alone. I rely on your help and my solid Democratic colleagues from Northwest Arkansas. And there is a coordinated effort right now to defeat us. Republicans all over our state are watching NWA Democrats, trying to gauge just how much support we’ve got….Let’s show them.

My re-election isn’t guaranteed. I know that I’m going to have to fight, so I’m asking for your vote and for your help, however you can give. No contribution is too small. Each one will make an impact. Let’s work together to show this whole state that we are just getting started. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
