A firm belief of mine, one that I’ve repeated often in my travels, is that
there is no such thing as a permanently red state. North Carolina is a
state that perfectly encapsulates that truth – and tells the story of how
on-the-ground organizing, combined with exceptional candidates, can make
any community competitive over time.
Roy Cooper is someone deeply rooted in the place that he is running. He
has never lost a race in North Carolina – even in years when Trump carried
the state. That fact gives me all the more confidence that this November,
he can do it again.
[ [link removed] ]That’s not the only reason Roy has my full support for U.S. Senate, but
it is why I’m asking you to join me by chipping in to his campaign today.
There’s no way to end the GOP’s one-party rule without flipping this
battleground seat, but he needs grassroots support to defend himself
against attacks and take his message directly to voters.

It’s clear to anyone paying attention that the status quo is no longer
working for working people. Yet while so many struggle to afford the bare
necessities, Republicans in Washington are prioritizing tax breaks for the
wealthiest instead of delivering results for the voters who trusted them
with power.
We have to do better. I know we can – and public servants like Roy Cooper
are living proof.
When he was Governor of North Carolina and I was Secretary of
Transportation, we worked together to deliver infrastructure resources to
communities across the state. I saw firsthand the depth of Roy’s
commitment to doing the right thing. He didn’t just show up for the folks
who voted for him. He worked to make life better for every North
Carolinian.
That’s why, with him on the ballot, this race is the best shot we have to
flip a Republican-held seat in the country – but the GOP can see that too,
and Republicans are spending nearly $100 million so far to try to stop
him.
Momentum is still on our side, but Roy’s lead in the polls is narrow and
will tighten. In a race that will come down to resources, grassroots
donations from folks like you are vital to ensure Roy crosses the finish
line.
